VisionDesk 1.0.2
A streaming release. The picture holds together on a network that does not, focus changes stop stuttering, and 1080p-class screens can run at 90 fps where the encoder budget proves it.
Streaming stability
- Whole-frame loss is now detected. A frame that vanished entirely used to leave a screen frozen on its last good picture with nothing reporting a fault — the failure was invisible to both sides. It is now counted as loss and recovered from.
- Presentation heals on a timer rather than waiting for the Mac to notice first, so a stalled screen returns on its own.
- A keyframe is issued after every cadence change. This is what caused the stutter when focus moved between screens. Host-side, so it works with any headset version.
- Still images are flushed per screen. Recovery on one screen previously interfered with the others. Also host-side.
- Single-datagram reordering is tolerated before anything is declared lost, and adaptive bitrate no longer cuts quality for packet loss the headset already repaired.
- The adaptive bitrate loop gained a decay cooldown and an RTT hysteresis band, and pays its recovery refresh as staggered quality debt instead of a burst of keyframes.
Motion 90
- 1080p-class screens run at 90 fps where the measured encoder budget allows it, with the virtual display's own refresh rate matched to the stream rather than left at a fixed value.
- Opt-in from the Mac dashboard. Quality tier labels now state what is actually being sent.
Also fixed
- A Mac with no physical display attached is represented honestly instead of reporting a display it does not have.
- A race in the encoder callback, and quality-of-service priorities on the media queues.
- In the headset, a screen can be dragged anywhere around you — placement was previously constrained to nearer and further.
Mixing versions
- New Mac Host with an older headset app: works, and the focus-stutter and still-image fixes already apply in full.
- Older Mac Host with the new headset app: works; the new telemetry is ignored.
- Both updated: full effect — the headset reports repaired and invisible loss, the host's adaptive bitrate responds correctly, and Motion 90 becomes available.

Mac Host 1.0.1
A redesigned Mac Host. Same streaming engine, same privacy model — a clearer window onto it.
Redesigned host
- Rebuilt on one shared component system, so cards, panels, switches, sliders and menus share a single radius, spacing and contrast scale across every page.
- A fixed dark appearance tuned for exact contrast, including pop-up menus, fields and progress views.
- Sidebar navigation with focused Displays, Workspace, Live View and Profiles pages, and a session strip carrying the live connection state.
- Reworked workspace arrangement preview.
Unchanged
- Streaming, capture, encoding, pairing and input behave exactly as in 1.0.0 — this release does not touch the transport.
- Still Developer ID signed, Apple-notarized and stapled, with a published SHA-256 checksum and a signed Sparkle update feed.
- The Vision Pro app remains at 1.0 on the App Store; the Mac Host updates independently.

A complete private spatial Mac workspace for Apple Vision Pro, with one uncompromised display free and up to five in Pro.
Spatial workspace
- Up to five active physical or VisionDesk-provisioned Mac displays as spatial screens.
- Flat, Curved, and Mixed layouts with direct move, resize, rotation, tilt, and curve controls.
- Exact screen distance and physical size on both Mac and Vision Pro, including multi-selection in Precision Layout.

Clarity and low-latency streaming
- Hardware HEVC with H.264 fallback, low-latency TCP and UDP transport, bounded queues, and stale-frame rejection.
- Focused-screen quality allocation with privacy-preserving active-screen and head-direction signals; peripheral screens run lighter.
- Standard mode uses a latency-calibrated resolution ceiling; optional Maximum Quality lifts it to 4K.
- Single-pass contrast-adaptive text sharpening on Vision Pro without an extra queued frame.
- Live stream health for latency, RTT, packet loss, stale frames, decode percentiles, and transport state.
Control, input, and continuity
- Mac audio, pointer, click, scroll, and keyboard input over the paired connection.
- Bonjour discovery, explicit code-confirmed pairing, TLS control, and DTLS datagrams.
- Auto-reconnect after app restart, Mac sleep, or local-network interruption.
- A deterministic Mac session schematic that shows layout and stream state without a second live 3D renderer.
- Full first-launch guidance on both devices and signed Sparkle updates on Mac.
VisionDesk Free and Pro
- Free includes one complete display with the same quality, latency, audio, input, and spatial controls.
- Pro unlocks two to five displays, Saved Workspaces, Precision Layout, and Custom Photo.
- Monthly and yearly StoreKit subscriptions share one entitlement, with an eligible 14-day trial, Restore Purchases, Family Sharing, and billing-grace support.
- When verified Pro access ends, an open session continues; the next session returns to one display without deleting saved setups.
Distribution status
- Vision Pro app: a free App Store download with optional VisionDesk Pro subscriptions.
- Mac Host: a free Developer ID-signed and notarized DMG, published with a SHA-256 checksum on the Mac Host page and updated through a signed Sparkle feed.
- The Mac Host is not distributed through the Mac App Store because it provisions real virtual displays through a private macOS API that App Store apps may not use.
Honest limitations
- Local network only; there is no cloud relay or internet pairing.
- One Mac per Vision Pro session.
- Screen Recording permission is required on Mac.
- Apple controls its named system-environment picker; public APIs do not let VisionDesk select a specific Apple environment.
